How to Start SEO for Your Small Business (Your First 90 Days)
Most small business owners hear “SEO” and picture a monthly invoice with nothing to show for it. It doesn't have to be that way. The first 90 days are about doing a few foundational things properly — not chasing every new trick.

Days 1–30: Get the basics right.
Claim and complete your Google Business Profile: every category, every service, real photos, your actual hours. This single listing is what shows up when someone nearby searches for what you do. Then make sure your website says clearly, on the first screen, what you do and where you do it. Search engines can only rank you for things your pages actually say.
Days 31–60: Give people a reason to click.
Write one page for each service you offer, in your customers' words — not industry language. If you're a plumber who handles emergency callouts in Sanford, say that. Add a short description to every image so it can be understood. Ask your five happiest customers for a review and reply to each one.
Days 61–90: Add proof and get found nearby.
Publish something useful once a month — a guide, a seasonal tip, a checklist. Make sure your business name, address and phone number are identical everywhere they appear online. Then connect Google Search Console so you can see which searches are bringing people in.
What to expect.
Ninety days won't put you first for everything. It will put you on the board — showing up for your own name, your services, and your neighbourhood. From there it compounds.
The honest shortcut.
Nothing above works if your site loads slowly, hides the phone number, or won't open properly on a phone. Fix that first.
